These images are stills from a short video ritual I am creating. My work often utilizes the concept of glamor, in both the contemporary sense of making objects or people seem supernaturally alluring, but also the more archaic definitions: the haze that changes the way an object is perceived. Glamor is a form of illusion that I create by bending light. I use various reflective materials and filters to obscure my physical features, allowing me to invoke an identity beyond the limits of my body. Like light passing through a prism, I become a vessel for various entities and identities. When I capture this illusion on camera, it becomes a reality that the viewer can perceive as well.
