Homosuperiorr

Working out of several experimental video and magical traditions, Homosuperiorr creates colorful layers of projections and reflections to manipulate the light around a subject, changing its appearance. Reflecting their own ambiguous identities, the body becomes a site of transformation, invoking a spectrum of shifting and multitudinous racial/sexual/gender possibilities, like light passing through a prism. To this end, they create light reflective sets, costumes, and props, activated by ritualized performance, to be edited and presented in a pop video format. Homosuperiorr further enhances these videos through multilayered superimposed images, strobe-like jump-cuts, and mystical pop soundscapes in an attempt to replicate the oneiric experience. In their work the limitations of the physical are transcended, allowing the viewer to enter the cinematic realm where belief is suspended and all ideas are possible.
